A Morning’s Ride

I had a rare free morning this past weekend where I was able to get up early and immediately get on my horse!

It was a beautiful, unusually cool morning for the first of June; the sunlight was golden, making the dew on the grass and flowers sparkle like diamonds. A perfect morning for a leisurely ride.

As I was galloping with the cool breeze blowing through my hair, my mind couldn’t help but echo Marianne Dashwood’s (Sense and Sensibilities) feelings as she walked on the hills surrounding Barton Cottage “Is there a felicity in the world superior to this?”….
