Canal Street

Canal Street in New Orleans is the dividing line between the French Quarter and the much newer business district. It is home to Brooks Brothers, Saks and many other ritzy stores and cafes. The only thing I bought was a bottle of water that costs about four times as much as it should have…. I felt very exclusive drinking it, though. Thankfully, they didn’t charge me to take pictures.IMG_5246

    • Yes, the French Quarter was largely untouched by Katrina. Going into downtown was a different story. Some of the destroyed homes had still not been torn down, now 10 years later. It was really sad.
